Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. She is best known for her starring role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick is also remembered for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald and is an educator and family therapist, a venture capitalist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
